Blog EntryOK, Here....Oct 8, '07 12:55 AM
for everyone
...I got "tagged" in Nocturno's Blog & so here are the results:
  1. Each blogger must post these rules.
  2. Each blogger start with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
  3. Blogger that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post this rules . at the end of your blog, you need to choose 8 peoples to get tagged and list their names.
  4. Don't forget to live them a comment telling them they've been tagged to read your blog.

So factoids about myself...uhhhhh.....mmmmmm...

  1. I'm not into writing blogs..heh heh...they're virtual so can be deleted & the discrimination of the hosting provider....the internet is a virtual reality & hence at some level doesn't exist so blogs seems very ephemeral...whatever.
  2. I like beer.  I like wine too but frankly prefer beer.  I didn't realize how much I knew about it until I was in the local liquor store & was able to name beers that the local expert hadn't heard of....the beer he recommended kinda sucked...haha...
  3. I love puzzles.  I used to more aggressively collect them but every once-in-a-while still buy one or two.  I particularly like wooden ones...I just got these two recently (the left one from Jakarta):
  4. I have a love/antipathy relationship  w/ technology....I love new technology but hate the the newest is often the worst....witness the new iPhones....lots of problems reported & bad support....looks cool but better to wait...oh well....plus some technological advances seem worthless...there are books on computer but I'd much rather just read a good ole paper-made-from-wood book.
  5. I love bizarre/unusual movies...I've seen movies that almost no one else has seen & they are some of my favorites:  The Last Wave, Picnic at Hanging Rock, The Shout, The Passenger, The Parallax View, Marathon Man, Dark Star, What's Up Doc?, Bedazzled (the original), After Hours, to name a few....of course I love a few standards, 2001, Groundhog Day, Once Upon a Time in the West, Clockwork Orange, Citizen Kane, The Maltese Falcon, Taxi Driver, etc...
  6. I'm a Democrat.  I think people think I'm really conservative because I look it but I register as a Democrat....there are a bunch of Libertarians in my family....heh heh...maybe I should have started it that way.
  7. My acting has helped my musicianship.  I've been taking acting classes for the past 6 years & it's dramatically improved my keyboard playing.  I still want to work on improvisation but I'm improving by the week.
  8. I eat beef.  I'll probably never be a vegetarian.  I love meat too much...who knows?  Maybe in the future, there will be some common meat substitutes & I can't tell the difference but for now, I love a big steak or chicken or pork....I guess I won't be converting to Judaism anytime soon either....

There, duty fulfilled.... :-P

Have you tried australian beer other than the famous fosters?

- Coopers sparkling is said by many to be the best especially if you are a POM (its from South australia and actually quite strong) you never know until you fall over after a couple. They also do the lighter ones. Original pale ale, Dark ale and Mild ale and light beers etc If you are lucky you can try the vintage one.

- Tooheys Old, Tooheys extra dry - from New south wales

http://www.tooheysnew.com.au/index.html

-James Squire Amber Ale - This is an acquired taste but very creamy and special

- Victoria Bitter - from Victoria - common aussie beer
http://www.fosters.com.au/enjoy/beer/victoria_bitter.htm

-Bees Neez Honey Wheat beer - quite special
http://www.tastebeer.com.au/beer/44

Too many to list but these are some of the favourite ones

Which ones have you tried out of this list below:-

Hey tell me what you think about Coopers Sparkling... Its quite strong isnt it? Its amazing you can find it over there!
No I have not tried or seen the celebrator, the goat is cute. Ah... its from Seattle, Washington!

Another australian specialty beer I like is Blue tongue ginger beer. Its not your normal sweet ginger beer.
They also do the normal brews. Its up in the hunter valley in the NSW wine region. Very nice place to get away.

These three belgium beers are my favourite cos they taste fruity hehehe more drinkable for me hahahah

Belle-Vue
Framboise 375ml $9.90
A very refreshing mixture of raspberries and Lambic. Belle-Vue Frambiose is a delicious and festive aperitif. Fruity sweet taste with a strong aroma. Alc.Vol.5.8%

Kriek 375ml $9.80
Lambic beer with fresh cherries added. Kriek is the flemish word for cherry. Pouring into the balloon shaped glass allows full expression of aroma and flavours. Ideal with an aperitif. Alc.Vol. 5.3%

Timmermans Peche Lambic 250ml $9.90
Peche Lambic is obtained by adding 100% natural peach juice to the Lambic resting in oak casks. The fruit itself is not added because the stone is too bitter and might change the taste of the beer. Savour this fruity beer with is creamy head in a champagne tulip...Noblesse Oblige. Alc.Vol.5%

By the way have you tried any of these german beers?

Cool...thanks for the recommendations....I've had the generic version of Löwenbräu but not the other varieties that are shown. Have you had Franziskaner before? That one is rather popular out here & there's a German restaurant/pub that has it on tap...heh heh...

Hahahaha you dont have to drink beer in pubs.
There's free champagne fri nites before 7pm
Wine, spirits, cocktails, bottled alcohol drinks like Bacardi Breezers, etc
Too much choice hahah but yeah beer is the cheapest option

Some pubs provide food during the peak after work hours to attract more people.
Yeah many pubs serve cheap steak and beer during lunch for $10 as well

Heh heh...cheap beer & steak for lunch? Maybe out there but here, that's sacrilege...America has gone back to it's puritan roots...drinking during lunch is verboten for most companies....it'll be Arthur Miller's, The Crucible all over again soon....good to hear that people in some countries are out there enjoying themselves...
